5 Creative Video Ideas Your Team Can Steal (Small Business Edition)

Let’s be honest. Most small business videos on social media are booooooring.
Stock music, awkward intros, forced smiles, the works.
But here’s the thing: your business has real people with real opinions and real personalities. That’s what people actually want to see online. You don’t need a studio or a celebrity cameo, just a few good prompts, a camera, and the right ideas.
So here are five video concepts your team can shamelessly steal (or, you know, borrow forever). Your engagement from both existing and new potential clients will be through the roof if you start creating this kind of content.
1. Best/Worst Videos
Ask your team members or the company owners about the best, worst, favorite, or least favorite things in your business or industry.
We did this with our client at Imperial Motorcycles, asking their mechanics:
“If you wanted to purchase a bike that would run forever, what would you buy?”
The video racked up 13,000+ likes on TikTok and 25,000+ on Instagram, with over 1,000 comments — all organic numbers, with no paid ads or boosts.
We literally drove them millions of views (and hundreds of new clients) with just four videos.
Why it works:
People love expert opinions, especially when they sound off-the-cuff.
2. Rate Trends from 1–10
This one’s simple: pick a few industry trends and ask your team to rate them from 1 to 10.
We’ve seen this work great for doctors rating health trends like sauna therapy, cold plunges, and red light therapy. You can apply it to anything — interior design fads, fitness routines, marketing tactics, menu items — whatever fits your world.

Why it works
It’s fast, relatable, and keeps people guessing what comes next.
3. Blind Ranking
Give your team five things related to your business and ask them to rank them from 1–5 without knowing what’s coming next.
For example, here’s a plastic surgeon who blind ranked skincare products like Vitamin C, retinol, and niacinamide. Once the list is done, they review their choices. Cue the laughs, debates, and hot takes. Potential customers love chiming in on videos like this.

Why it works:
It feels authentic, unscripted, and human. The internet eats that up.
4. Recommendations for a Specific Audience
Want engagement? Get specific.
Niche down to blow up, as they say.
Ask a team member what they’d recommend for a certain type of customer.
We asked Imperial Motorcycles what bikes they’d recommend for new riders — that video pulled in 15,000+ likes on Instagram with zero ad spend. And more importantly, brought dozens of new riders into the shop.
Why it works:
It tells your audience, “Hey, we see you, and we get you.”
5. This or That
Two options. One choice. Instant opinions.
“This or that” videos are perfect for businesses with multiple products or services. You can ask your team (or customers) to pick between two things, whether it’s car brands, spa treatments, pizzas, or pasta types.
We’ve seen versions of this go viral because everyone watching instantly has a take of their own. And they want to see if you agree.

Why it works:
It’s easy to film, fun to watch, and comment bait in disguise.
